“Sense of déjà vu” Neto breaks silence after completing Juventus return | OneFootball

Neto has completed his free transfer to Juventus and signed a deal until the end of this season, returning to the club where he played between 2015 and 2017.

The Brazilian was a backup to Gianluigi Buffon during his previous spell, when Juventus dominated Italian football. However, he soon left in search of regular game time because a starting role could not be guaranteed at Juventus.

The Bianconeri would have trusted Neto with the role when Buffon left, but the goalkeeper had already departed by then. Now, he has returned to Juventus as the club needed to sign a new goalkeeper as a free agent.

Neto arrives as a far more experienced player than he was 11 years ago when he first moved to Turin. He will now be looking to get some game time and demonstrate what he can do for the Bianconeri.

Neto Returns to Juventus

Juventus are sure they have made the right choice by bringing Neto back to the club. In the coming weeks, they will have the opportunity to confirm that decision as the Brazilian begins to get game time.

His previous experience at the club means he already knows the environment and what it means to represent Juventus. However, his return also gives him an opportunity to begin another chapter with the Bianconeri after spending years playing elsewhere.

Neto will hope to make the most of his chance and show that he can still perform at the level expected of a Juventus goalkeeper.

Brazilian Welcomes Second Chance

The goalkeeper has also spoken positively about his return to Turin and expressed his happiness at being given another opportunity with Juventus.

The Brazilian said via Calciomercato:

” Coming back here is a sense of déjà vu . I’d like to thank the club, the director, and the manager for this opportunity and this chance. I’m truly happy. It’s hard to believe that I can come back here with a blank page to write, knowing what I’ve experienced, what the club is like, and what the environment is like. So I’m truly happy.”

Neto now has the opportunity to write a new chapter at Juventus after returning as a more experienced player. The club will hope his experience can prove valuable as he begins his second spell.
