An unexpected controversy has set social media ablaze following the circulation of supposed heated exchanges between Sergio Agüero, the iconic Argentinian footballer, and Mounir Nasraoui, father of FC Barcelona’s young prodigy Lamine Yamal. Shared in the form of screenshots, these comments—whose authenticity remains unconfirmed—have sparked a passionate debate across the media and among fans.

In these alleged conversations, Agüero reportedly fired a biting jab at Nasraoui: "Fua, what a f***ing idiot Lamine Yamal’s father turned out to be." Harsh words that supposedly drew an immediate, sarcastic comeback from the father of the Spanish international, known for his outspoken views: "Who is this kid anyway? Make sure your heart’s working fine, man, because you might drop dead, haha." This was a cruel reference to the heart problems that forced Agüero to retire prematurely in 2021. Stung by the remark, the former Manchester City striker is said to have fired back with an equally personal attack: "Shut up, Moroccan. If it weren’t for your son, you’d be selling socks on the street."

These exchanges, which have yet to be officially verified, quickly went viral. Many observers believe this could be a fabricated controversy designed to stoke debate, especially following the 2025 Ballon d’Or being awarded to Ousmane Dembélé ahead of Lamine Yamal. Mounir Nasraoui had not hidden his disappointment after the vote, describing it as a "moral blow" for his son and suggesting a lack of transparency in the voting process.
