Sergio Conceicao features on Marseille’s shortlist to replace Roberto De Zerbi | OneFootball

Roberto De Zerbi’s departure from Olympique de Marseille was confirmed in the early hours of Wednesday morning. The club’s directors are now working to appoint a successor. 

As reported by Foot Mercato earlier on Wednesday, Habib Beye, sacked by Stade Rennais earlier this week, is a name that features very highly on OM’s shortlist. However, the former Red Star manager is not the only name on the shortlist and he is joined by former FC Porto, AC Milan, and FC Nantes manager Sergio Conceicao, the publication now adds. 

Unlike Beye, Conceicao does not have the benefit of being out of a job, meaning that Marseille would have to pay the Portuguese manager’s current club, Al-Ittihad, compensation. Foot Mercato understands that his release clause is worth €4.5m. OM have yet to make contact but are big fans of the Portuguese manager, whom they tried to hire before De Zerbi’s arrival at the Vélodrome 18 months ago.
