OM: Habib Beye to succeed Roberto De Zerbi?
Roberto De Zerbi's time at Olympique de Marseille has come to an end following the heavy defeat against PSG (0-5). Despite his public reassurances, the Italian coach has left the Marseille dugout, a consequence of results deemed insufficient both domestically and in European competitions.
To replace him, the Marseille management is reportedly considering Habib Beye, according to Foot Mercato. Free after his departure from Stade Rennais, the 48-year-old Senegalese tactician is seen as a profile capable of reigniting the club’s momentum.
A former OM player from 2003 to 2007, Beye knows the Marseille environment inside out, having won two Intertoto Cups with the club. Currently sitting fourth in Ligue 1, eleven points behind PSG, OM remain in the hunt for a Champions League qualification spot. The arrival of Beye could breathe new life into the home stretch of the season.
