“As in the previous season, the 2025-26 Serie A Championship will feature an asymmetrical fixture calendar. The order of matches in the second leg will differ from the first leg, with a minimum of eight matchdays separating home and away fixtures against the same opponent,” Serie A said in a statement.

“This structure aims to accommodate an increasing number of constraints related to public order, the growing volume of European competitions, local events, and Club-specific needs, while also optimising TV viewership and stadium attendance.

DERBIES: All scheduled on different matchdays and will not take place on MD 1 or MD 9 (midweek round).

MATCHES BETWEEN CLUBS PARTICIPATING IN EUROPEAN COMPETITIONS: Clubs involved in the UEFA Champions League cannot face Clubs participating in the UEFA Europa League or UEFA Europa Conference League on MD 5, 22, 26, 29, 32, and 35, i.e. the matchdays scheduled between two back-to-back UEFA Competition rounds.

MIDWEEK ROUNDS: Two midweek rounds are scheduled in the 2025/2026 Serie A Championship season: MD 9 and MD 19.

MANDATORY ALTERNATION: Mandatory alternation of home and away matches will apply to the following combination of Clubs: INTER-MILAN, LAZIO-ROMA, JUVENTUS-TORINO, FIORENTINA-PISA. Exceptions to alternation may occur due to overlapping events or structural constraints: specifically, at the start of the season, for Fiorentina and Pisa in order to allow for stadium renovations and for Milan and Inter during the period of the Winter Olympic Games when the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium will be unavailable, as it will host the Opening Ceremony of the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games on 6 February 2026.

NO WINTER BREAK: The 2025/2026 Serie A Championship, taking place from 24 August 2025 to 24 May 2026, will only be interrupted during the 4 FIFA international windows (7 September, 12 October, 16 November, 29 March). During the Christmas period, Serie A matchdays will take place on the weekends of 21 December, 28 December, and 3 January, with an additional midweek round scheduled for 6 January.
