Juventus suffered a surprise 1-0 defeat against Como on match-day two of the 2025/26 Serie A season. Elsewhere, Napoli made it two wins from two with a thrilling 4-3 success against newly-promoted Ternana.

Here’s how the latest Serie A action unfolded as Roma, Napoli and Lazio remain tied on points as the only three teams yet to drop points in this early stage of the season.

Como claim surprise win over Juve

Saturday’s clash between Juventus and Como appeared to be heading towards a goalless draw until Nadine Nischler broke the deadlock in the 84th minute. The 24-year-old was left unmarked to volley home from Ramona Petzelberger’s deep corner. Nischler’s late effort sealed a famous win for the visitors and condemned Juventus to another disappointing result in Serie A.

Max Canzi’s side have just one point to their name after two league matches, and they are the only team yet to score in the top flight this season.

Late Roma fightback sinks AC Milan

Roma staged a dramatic turnaround to take maximum points from Sunday’s away clash with AC Milan. The visitors were dealt a blow when Kay-Lee de Sanders scored with a looping volley after Luca Rossettini’s charges failed to clear their lines from a corner.

However, Roma produced a swift response from a corner of their own. Corelli sent her glancing header in off the post after meeting Manuela Giugliano’s inviting corner. Buoyed by the equaliser, the pair linked up again in stoppage time, with Corelli playing the through ball for Giugliano to fire past the helpless Laura Giuliani.

Napoli and Lazio maintain 100 percent records

Like Roma, Napoli have taken maximum points from their first two league games. After edging out Fiorentina via a 1-0 scoreline on match-day one, Napoli produced a free-scoring display to dispatch Ternana in Sunday’s away clash. Napoli’s Cecilie Fløe Nielsen scored in back-to-back matches to cancel out Lucia Pastrenge’s early opener. Natalie Rose Muth then let fly from the edge of the box to give Napoli the lead, before Cameron Brooks glanced the ball home from a corner to make it 3-1 at the interval.

After providing the assist for Napoli’s third, Kinga Kozak got a goal of her own in the 52nd minute, when she curled the ball straight in from a corner to add to her team’s advantage. Valeria Pirone gave Ternana renewed hope just past the hour mark, sending Doris Bačić the wrong way from the spot to open her third competitive goal of the season. Marika Massimino pulled another goal back in the fourth minute of stoppage time, but it ultimately proved to be too little too late for the hosts.

Lazio are in the 100 percent club with Roma and Napoli after they saw off Genoa on Saturday. Flaminia Simonetti required less than 10 minutes to open the scoring against the newly promoted side. The 28-year-old pounced on a loose ball and drove into the box, before she steered home a right-foot shot. Eleonora Goldoni doubled Lazio’s advantage in the 65th minute, heading in following some fine build-up play from Clarisse Le Bihan. Genoa’s Valery Vigilucci reduced the deficit late on, but it proved to be a mere consolation.

Inter salvage point in captivating match

Inter and Fiorentina both played their part in a dramatic 2-2 draw on Saturday. Elisa Polli gave Inter the lead before the hosts hit back through Emma Snerle, who was teed up by Iris Omarsdottir’s sublime assist. Omarsdottir went on to grab a goal of her own in the second period, lifting the ball over Cecilía Rán Rúnarsdóttir to turn the game in Fiorentina’s favour.

The visitors looked set to fall to a narrow loss until Santi netted a 91st-minute equaliser. The substitute poked the ball home after latching onto Ivana Andrés’s knockdown.

Parma secure first Serie A win of the season

Elsewhere, Parma came from behind to claim their maiden league win of the campaign. Giada Pondini scored just before the hour mark to cancel out Sara Caiazzo’s first-half opener. Danielle Cox proved to be Parma’s hero when she netted a stoppage-time winner. The defender nodded in on the line after a corner had wreaked havoc in the Sassuolo box.

Best goal of Serie A matchday two

We have picked Snerle’s strike as the goal of the weekend, largely for Omarsdottir’s ingenious assist. After receiving the ball with her back to goal, Omarsdottir showed great awareness and technique to backheel it into Snerle’s path for a clinical finish.

  • Lazio 2-1 Genoa
  • Juventus 0-1 Como
