Serie A Teams Submit UEFA Lists for Next Few Months

Article image:Serie A Teams Submit UEFA Lists for Next Few Months

Multiple Serie A teams had to exclude some players from their UEFA lists due to their oversized rosters. While there weren’t shocking omissions, a few well-known faces won’t play in Europe until January (via Tuttomercatoweb).

Atalanta had room for everybody, including Ademola Lookman, whose future is undetermined. If he transferred to Turkey, he wouldn’t be able to take part in any continental competition. Galatasaray and Fenerbahce kicked the tires on him, but there’s nothing advanced for now. La Dea demands a boatload of money to sell him, Fabrizio Romano reports (via SOSFanta).

Inter and Juventus had to keep out just one man off their UEFA lists. They chose very fringe ones, Tomas Palacios and Arkadiusz Milik. The former stayed put after refusing several offers, while the latter hasn’t played in over a year.

Ciro Immobile and Romelu Lukaku didn’t make Napoli and Bologna’s UEFA lists because of their severe thigh injuries. The Partenopei left out deputies Pasquale Mazzocchi and Luca Marianucci. Due to the abundance of options in their roles, Lorenzo De Silvestri, Ibrahima Sulemana, and Benjamin Dominguez will be ineligible to play for the Felsinei.

Roma had to make some decisions too and picked Jan Ziolkowski over Devis Vasquez and Tommaso Baldanzi, Sky reports. They are less deep defensively, and Evan N’Dicka will leave for AFCON in mid-December. Lorenzo Pellegrini and Leon Bailey made the cut.

Fiorentina have a few youth products in their squad, which helps. Christian Kouamé, who’s back from a loan at Empoli, is the only exclusion, but he’ll miss multiple months because of an ACL tear.
