Juventus ‘are very close’ to now signing Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pape Matar Sarr.
The Bianconeri became involved in the hunt for Sarr on Saturday when they sent in an official request to Tottenham for the midfielder.
Sarr is wanted by the Italians on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy, though Spurs have been preferring a permanent sale.
There was fresh contact between the two clubs on Saturday evening as Juventus looked to push forward the swoop and, despite there being interest in Sarr from a host of other clubs, such as Nottingham Forest, look to have taken the lead.
Now, according to Italian journalist Romeo Agresti, Juventus ‘are very close’ to signing Sarr from Tottenham.

The Italian Serie A outfit have hit the accelerator and want to beat off the competition to get the deal done quickly.
Sarr is out of favour at Tottenham under Roberto De Zerbi and when told the club would consider offers for him, asked to leave.
He was not involved in Tottenham’s home defeat against Newcastle United on Saturday and looks to have played his last game for the north London club.
With Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes having been added to the books at Tottenham, Sarr’s chances of game time look limited if he was to stay put.

Juventus have already done business with Tottenham this summer by bringing in goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.
Vicario is on loan at Juventus with an option to buy and it remains to be seen what terms the Italians have struck with Tottenham to snap up Sarr.
The midfielder has had his fans as a Tottenham player, with his energy in midfield coming in for particular praise,
