A breathless contest at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán is level, with Robert Navarro and Peque scoring in quick succession before half-time. The second half is under way with chances at both ends.

As reported by as.com, the game began after a minute's silence for victims of recent rail accidents, including Sevilla season-ticket holder Fernando Huerta.

Athletic threatened from crosses and Izeta caused problems, though Kike Salas made key interventions. The visitors struck first when Vlachodimos clawed out Izeta's close-range effort on the line, only for Robert Navarro to force in the rebound. The move stemmed from a Sevilla error, with Yuri and Sancet involved.

Sevilla responded almost immediately. Peque won the ball, Juanlu burst down the right and delivered low for Peque to finish across goal.

Before the interval there were further openings, with Unai busy against long balls and Kike Salas repelling a late corner. At half-time Sevilla replaced Sow with Castrín, with Gudelj moving into midfield, and the hosts kicked off the restart.

On 48, Vlachodimos produced a superb stop on the line to deny Izeta again. Athletic then applied pressure, Carmona blocking a Berenguer strike, while corners for both teams came to nothing.

Sevilla’s break saw Akor Adams flagged offside and the Basque defence cut out further raids. The match remains finely poised in Nervión.
