Sevilla chief Monchi: Corona, Martial signings not easy | OneFootball

Sevilla football chief Monchi has welcomed their January business.

Monchi oversaw the signing of Porto midfielder Jesus Corona and the loan of Manchester United attacker Anthony Martial.

He said, "The taste is sweet because the dedication, time and work that we have put into it has had results.

"Both the coach and I were clear about the profiles we needed and the priority names before the market began. It has been on track to what has been achieved.

"Sometimes you don't mark the times, but the result of the acquisitions was on track as planned. From now on we hope that the performance will be in line with the effort we have all made.

"There was an idea, but with the injuries to Suso and (Erik) Lamela, we had to redo it and change it a bit. It has been intense because bringing in two players like Martial and Tecatito is not easy because the competition was very big.

"Different situations, with a profile high market share, but highly coveted market pieces. We have spent a lot of time convincing and securing the acquisition of these players."
