It’s been a turbulent time recently for Sevilla. Despite winning the Europa League just two seasons ago, the club have seemingly been lacking direction for a while.
This is an unusual situation for a club with the European pedigree of Sevilla, and one the fans aren’t willing to stand for – they believe the club’s current board is to blame.
Currently, the man at the wheel of the ship, José María del Nido Carrasco, is present at the World Football Summit, which is being hosted in his own city, and took the opportunity to speak about the club’s future.
As reported by ElDesmarque, Del Nido Carrasco promised that the club will return to its old model of buying low and selling high, as he looks to get the Andalucian club back on track.
Meanwhile, in the stands of the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, Sevilla fans have been brandishing yellow banners with the message ‘Junior vete ya‘ – demanding that the president leave his post at the club.
The next few years will be vital for Sevilla’s future amongst Europe’s elite, as the club looks to revive itself and get back to the success that made them a household name.
