Sevilla have two defenders back ahead of Saturday’s meeting with leaders Barcelona at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, while Lucas Stassin joins Rubén Vargas on the sidelines.
Arouna Sangante and Kike Salas trained fully with the group on Friday. Luis García Plaza said in his latest press conference that Sangante is recovered and fully available for the next match.
Sangante has shaken off an ankle sprain that kept him out against Valencia CF and Deportivo de La Coruña. After more than 10 days away from group work, he is back in the fold.
Salas had felt discomfort since the Riazor game and had been handled carefully this week. He completed the session and could be available, with the centre of defence to be shared by Salas, Sangante and Andrés Castrín.
Stassin suffered a myofascial adductor injury against Dépor and drops out of contention. He now joins Vargas, who is expected back after the next international break for the Levante UD game. The same timeline is anticipated for Stassin.
Nico Guillén has also resumed work with the first team after recent outings for Sevilla Atlético. A possible call-up would widen García Plaza’s options in a demanding week and with a title-chasing visitor.
Kick-off is on Saturday at 21:00. Sevilla’s staff have more bodies available, though the roles of Sangante and Salas will depend on how they come through, with attention now on the final squad and XI.
