Sevilla star forced to turn off IG comments amid wave of abuse | OneFootball

Sevilla star Akor Adams has early this week felt it necessary to close the comments section on his official Instagram account.

This comes amid a mounting backlash against the Nigerian on the part of his side’s fans.

Frontman Adams was in from the off once more this past weekend, as Sevilla made the trip to Mestalla for a La Liga meeting with Valencia.

En route to an eventual 1-1 draw, however, the 25-year-old continued to draw criticism for the level of his performance.

A fresh round of offside calls mean that Adams has now been flagged for as much on more occasions than any other player in Europe’s top-5 leagues this season (22).

And coupled with his haul of just two La Liga goals, the Sevilla faithful appear to have had enough.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, so intense did the abuse being sent in his direction get over recent days, that Adams felt it necessary to turn off comments on his Instagram account.

For the sake of club and player alike, the attacker desperately needs to get things back on track over the weeks ahead…
