A high-profile member of the midfield setup at La Liga outfit Sevilla is the subject of an approach from Turkish outfit Trabzonspor.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing Diario AS, who have confirmed that Óliver Torres is attracting mounting interest with a view to the summer.
Torres, for his part, has played an important role at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán across the season to date.
All told, the 29-year-old has featured on 24 occasions in La Liga, 15 of which came in the form of starts.
And though his stats across such appearances do not exactly catch the eye (0 goals, 1 assist), Torres nevertheless remains a trusted figure in the engine room ranks of boss Quique.
In turn, it may well come as a concern to the coaching staff in Andalusia to hear of the former Porto man, this week, being approached regarding a summer move away from Sevilla.
Torres’ current terms are due to expire in June, with his future, as a result, considered as being somewhat ‘up in the air’.
And the aforementioned Trabzonspor, it would appear, are keen to take advantage of such uncertainty, having made contact with the Spaniard’s representatives, to lay out the details of a long-term contract offer in Trabzon.
