Sevilla FC face a delicate summer, balancing performance and finances as Antonio Cordón maps out recruitment. Key calls centre on Akor Adams, Lucien Agoumé and Odisseas Vlachodimos.
Adams has become Sevilla’s main attacking outlet this season, with seven goals and four assists. He has already bettered Isaac Romero’s tally from last term and sits two direct goal contributions short of Dodi Lukebakio’s numbers.
Without Adams’s goals and assists, Sevilla would have eight points fewer and would sit in the relegation places, level with Levante UD. His work rate has been unquestionable.
The club could consider a sale to raise funds, with Agoumé in a similar bracket and understood to be worth around 12 million euros. “My focus is on Sevilla and I hope to stay as long as possible,” he told Muchodeporte.
Agoumé has under Matías Almeyda shown versatility in the pivot and in central defence. While a departure would deliver a much-needed boost to the books, he has preferred to stress collective growth and better game management late on.
In goal, Vlachodimos has made a strong impression, but he is on loan from Newcastle United and his deal ends in June. “I love the club and the city, but I am a Newcastle player and I do not know what will happen,” he told Diario de Sevilla.
He also highlighted his family’s bond with the club and the stadium’s atmosphere. Sevilla are weighing up their options, with final decisions likely to hinge on financial room.
