The SFA have confirmed the refereeing appointments for Celtic’s trip to face Dundee at Dens Park. The Scottish Champions travel to Tayside to face Steven Pressley’s side, who have shown inconsistency this season but have not been the basement dwellers that many had predicted after their Premier Sports Cup League Phase run.

The SFA have handed the whistle for the Sunday afternoon meeting to 32-year-old Matthew MacDermid. The referee was recently behind the screen at Clydesdale House for Celtic’s dramatic win over Kilmarnock at Rugby Park with MacDermid advising John Beaton to check the monitor, which resulted in the awarding of the spot kick.

MacDermid will be assisted by Dougie Potter and Chris Rae.

Meanwhile, Gavin Duncan has been placed on VAR duties with Duncan Nicolson assisting.

Celtic will be hoping to continue their impressive run against Dundee but will be wary of the defensive display from Pressley’s side at Ibrox. The Dee were robust and were well worth their 1-1 draw against Russell Martin’s beleaguered outfit. They will be well disciplined and Brendan Rodgers’ side will need to show their attacking prowess if they are to return to Glasgow with all three points.
