Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw has won December’s Etihad Player of the Month award.
The Jamaican fought off competition for the prize from Kerolin and Vivianne Miedema, with over 4,500 votes cast in total.
It followed her role in a fantastic month for Andrée Jeglertz’s side, which saw the Blues win each of our three assignments across all competitions.
Victories over Leicester and Aston Villa maintained our lead at the top of the Barclays Women’s Super League table, with City currently six points clear of second place Chelsea.
And we closed the calendar year with an emphatic 5-1 win away at West Ham United, which booked our place in the Subway Women’s League Cup semi-finals.
Across those three games, Shaw wrote her name into the Club’s history books once again as she became the first women’s player to reach, then surpass, 100 goals for the Blues.
She began the month by bagging a brace before registering the assist for Kerolin’s strike in our late 3-0 win at Leicester.
That double took her tally to 99 in blue, but Bunny then plundered her 100th in our next assignment with our opener against Aston Villa, meeting a Miedema cross and directing the ball into the bottom corner.
She then doubled our advantage on the cusp of half-time with a trademark, precise strike into the net after, before adding a further two strikes after the break to collect the match ball and round off a memorable afternoon.
Shaw then closed 2025 with a looping header in our 5-1 win over West Ham in the League Cup to raise her personal December tally to seven goals in three games.
It means she now has 13 goals so far this season and is currently at the top of the WSL’s scoring chart with 12, more than double her nearest rival.
Congratulations to Bunny for winning December’s Etihad Player of the Month, and thank you to everyone who voted!
