Sheffield United have announced the news that midfielder Tammi George has left the club.

The Blades revealed the player’s departure via a post on their official club website this afternoon.

George joined Sheffield United last summer after leaving FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division promotion hopefuls Wolverhampton Wanderers. She penned an initial one-year deal at Bramall Lane with the option of a further year.

The midfielder spent a decade with former club Wolves, making a name for herself in the semi-professional game. The move to Sheffield United provided the player with an opportunity to test herself at professional level for the first time. George has gone on to make 10 appearances for The Blades in all competitions. She has helped the club put down some solid foundations for the future off the back of a difficult campaign in 2024/2025.

Ahead of Sheffield United’s return to league action following the winter break, it has been revealed that George has left the club. The player wishes to pursue a different opportunity in the game and the club have therefore allowed her to move on.

Sheffield United’s first game of 2026 is a Barclays WSL2 fixture against Crystal Palace at Bramall Lane this evening.
