Hamza Choudhury spent the second half of last season on loan with Sheffield United
Sheffield United are continuing to monitor the situation surrounding Hamza Choudhury at Leicester City ahead of the January transfer window.
According to The Star, the Blades are keen on a move to bring the midfielder back to Bramall Lane after his previous loan stint with the team last season.
The 28-year-old has been an inconsistent member of Martí Cifuentes’ first team plans at the King Power Stadium this season.
Choudhury has made eight league appearances, including five starts, from the opening 12 fixtures of the campaign.
The Leicester player featured 16 times in the Championship last year for Chris Wilder’s side, helping them reach the play-off final before returning to the Foxes in the summer.

It has been reported that Sheffield United are monitoring the availability of Choudhury ahead of the January transfer market.
The midfielder joined the Blades on loan in the previous winter market, and could be in line to do so again in 2026.
It’s believed that the Yorkshire outfit are also keen on adding Choudhury’s Leicester teammate Harry Souttar to their ranks as well.
However, it’s understood that Sheffield United are likely to look to offload some of their defensive depth before making any further additions in that area of the squad.
Choudhury has 18 months remaining on his current contract, but has proven a useful part of Cifuentes’ squad so far this season, so it remains to be seen whether they can be convinced to cash in amid their push for promotion this term.
Sheffield United have endured a difficult start to the current campaign, with the team struggling for form after losing the play-off final to Sunderland.
The Blades have earned just nine points from their opening 12 games, leaving them inside the relegation zone in 22nd ahead of Saturday’s home clash against Derby County.

It’s no surprise that Sheffield United are eyeing moves to go back in for Choudhury and Souttar, who also previously had a stint at Bramall Lane.
It’s clear that Wilder is a fan of both, and this is the kind of character he feels needs to be added to the dressing room after their poor start to the season.
Choudhury also provides some much-needed midfield depth, while also being able to cover at right-back, as he did on numerous occasions last year.
It’s hard to see Leicester agreeing to another loan move, which could prove tricky for getting a deal done for the midfielder, so it could depend on Sheffield United’s willingness to pay a permanent fee to sign him this January.
