David Storch is set to meet Sheffield Wednesday staff in an exciting new update
David Storch's Arise Capital Partners consortium is edging ever closer to completing a takeover of crisis club Sheffield Wednesday, who have been without an owner since plunging into administration and getting rid of controversial ex-chairman Dejphon Chansiri in November of last year.
Administrative group Begbies Traynor have overseen the Owls throughout a long-drawn-out takeover process, in which former poker star James Bord had appeared primed to purchase the club only to pull out of the deal amid growing frustrations from supporters.
The prospective takeover at Hillsborough has been just about the only saga for Wednesdayites to follow, with the on-pitch fortunes of Henrik Pedersen's side having been a foregone conclusion before the campaign began. Wednesday have been deducted a total of 18 points over the course of the season, with a further 15 set to be docked in League One next season after the Owls suffered the earliest relegation in EFL history by being sent down in the backyard of Steel City rivals Sheffield United back in February.
It has been a nightmareish season both on and off-the-pitch, although a renewed sense of positivity and hope has set about in recent times as US businessman Storch bids to complete his takeover of the third-tier-bound outfit.
The process remains ongoing, although all signs would suggest that Storch is projected to become Wednesday's next owner after a ruinous end to Chansiri's reign, having been granted preferential bidder status by Begbies Traynor last month. With talks ongoing both in and outside of S6 regarding Storch's ever-nearing takeover, the date in which the prospective Owls chief is set to meet staff at the club has now been revealed.
Storch, who could seal his takeover in a matter of weeks, has displayed a keen interest in broadening his knowledge and laying the groundwork for strong working relationships at Sheffield Wednesday.
Because of that, then, he's poised to speak with Wednesday staff at Hillsborough on Thursday, with employees at all levels of the club invited to attend after being informed of the meeting earlier this week.

This comes via a report from Alex Miller of The Star, who has stated that the informal meeting will also be attended by the administrators to answer questions about how the takeover process is progressing.
It's said that Storch is heading up to Sheffield today after being in London since the weekend as he looks to take yet another vital steps in his efforts to purchase Wednesday and direct the Owls' new chapter.
Wednesday, who remain on -6 points in the Championship, will return to action following the international break with a trip to Stoke City before returning to Hillsborough to face relegation-threatened Leicester City.
This is yet another sign of how intent Storch is on taking over Sheffield Wednesday, with all affiliated with the club having longed for clarity and communication from previously-prospective and, in the case of Chansiri, inducted owners.

The Owls didn't get this with Bord, whose takeover attempt initially appeared hugely-promising but ultimately left more questions than answers as the deal went up in smoke, and they will appreciate Storch's continued efforts to go above and beyond and give clarity to a club which has been left in the dark on far too many occasions in recent years.
It's not a done deal just yet - far from it, in fact - but the signs are continually positive and Storch's pursuit of a takeover keeps trending in the right direction.
Important questions will no doubt be presented once he meets Wednesday staff for the first time, and knowing what we do about Storch, the opportunity to answer those will be relished.
