It means Leeds would have a one in three chance of facing Championship opposition in the semi-finals, if they get past West Ham. A meeting with Southampton would also present a shot at payback for May 2024’s play-off final defeat.

The revised odds are: Manchester City 3-4 favourites, in from 10-3, Chelsea 3-1 from 9-2. West Ham 12-1 from 16-1, Leeds 14-1 from 20-1, as short as 11-1 with some firms, and Southampton 20-1 from 66-1.

The Irons and the Whites are contesting the final remaining semi-final spot. Daniel Farke’s side must first negotiate West Ham for any prospect of that second-tier tie.
