Shomurodov converts early as Başakşehir stay sixth

Başakşehir beat Samsunspor 3-0 in İstanbul to stay sixth in the Süper Lig, with Eldor Shomurodov's early penalty setting up a comfortable night.
Bertug Ozgur Yildirim drew a penalty after a foul by Lubomir Satka. Eldor Shomurodov converted in the sixth minute.
Yusuf Sari doubled the lead from the centre of the box after Shomurodov's pass (43.).
After the restart, Amine Harit hit the bar from close range (46.).
Abbosbek Fayzullayev, introduced on 70 minutes, sealed it with a close range finish (78.) moments after Okan Kocuk had saved from Olivier Kemen.
Both sides lost starters to first half injuries, with Satka and Yildirim withdrawn early.
Başakşehir registered 19 attempts, six on target. Samsunspor saw 60% of the ball but produced only one effort on target from nine attempts.
Shomurodov is now on 21 league goals, second in the Süper Lig scoring chart. Next, Başakşehir visit Gaziantep. Samsunspor host Göztepe.
