AS Monaco have completed the signing of Ivorian winger Simon Adingra on a paid loan with a non-obligatory option to buy. The club confirmed the move on Monday evening as they seek cover for Takumi Minamino, ruled out for the season with cruciate ligament damage.

According to Nice-Matin, the arrangement includes a 1 million loan fee and a 17 million option. The 24-year-old has lacked minutes at Sunderland and now heads to the Principality.

Adingra previously played for Brighton and Union Saint-Gilloise, the former club of head coach Sébastien Pocognoli, though the pair did not cross paths in Belgium.

Elsewhere, Lucas Michal has joined Metz on loan until the end of the season. The 20-year-old Under-20 international had pushed to leave last summer but was kept by the club.

Michal is under contract until June 2029 and featured late last season under Adi Hütter, but has barely played this term.

Talks also continue over a possible departure for George Ilenikhena, 19. RMC reported earlier on Monday that Saudi club Al-Ittihad had tabled a bid of 33 million euros, and negotiations were still ongoing on Monday evening.
