Continuing the scintillating form was the latest triumph, a 4-1 demolition of West Yorkshire rivals Bradford City Women to top Group T of the FA WNL Cup and advance to the knockout stages of the competition.

The impressive winning run has pleased boss Simon Wood who is confident his team can go far this term on all fronts as they aim to go from strength to strength.

“When we were going into the League Cup this season, we were looking at how do we want to take it, what do we want to do for the competition,” he told LUTV.

“I think what was decided as a group was that we wanted to make sure we built momentum and kept the momentum going for what we are doing in the league at the minute.

“So, getting three out of three in that competition complements what we are doing in the league so far this season, and we want to make sure we have always got good habits.

“Today, we have rested a few players. We knew it was going to be a real test of actually how much depth we have got in this squad today.

“I think if you look at the score, you look at the way we have played, it is a real complement to actually what the squad has got and the capabilities of the squad. Everyone is happy at the end because we have come away with a win.

“We are really pleased as a whole because it has continued that momentum that we have been on this season. We have not been perfect by any means.

“We have not been perfect today but what we are starting to see is different bits of our game. With each performance, those different bits are coming together.”
