Siwelele FC talks about losing their outstanding young striker!
In the whirlwind of football, a young striker's ascent often triggers a familiar anxiety: the fear of a premature departure. But for Siwelele FC coach Lehlohonolo Seema, the burgeoning talent of Siviwe Magidigidi is a cause for calm, not concern.
Magidigidi's trajectory has been one of rapid growth. Since his professional debut in 2024, he has evolved from a promising talent to a key figure. His contributions were pivotal for the Amajita's COSAFA Cup triumph, and he carried that form onto the global stage, netting twice at the recent U20 FIFA World Cup. Returning home with confidence sky-high, he immediately reintegrated into the Siwelele lineup, making a tangible impact with two goals and an assist in just three games.
Such form inevitably attracts attention, and with the transfer window looming, questions about his future are natural. Yet, Coach Seema faces this possibility with a philosopher's poise. His focus remains fixed on what he can influence, embodying a pragmatic approach to the modern game.
“I’m not worried. If he goes, there’s another player. So, I can control the controllable,” Seema told the media, reflecting his grounded perspective. “The boy has played in the World Cup. If you’ve seen. They will always be a player that will come and take it, and when he was not there, of course, we were not scoring a lot of goals, but we’ve managed to win one game. So, I can’t stand in front of you here now and say, “No, I’m not gonna lose him. Oh, no, he’s not going anywhere. I don’t know.”
It is a testament to both the player's quality and the coach's realism a recognition that in football, today's rising star may be tomorrow's transfer, and the team's machinery must be ready to adapt.
