According to L'Équipe, six Ligue 1 clubs have already broken their record player sales in this summer window, as fees soar and the Premier League has spent €2.5 billion.
City Group side Troyes matched their all-time best sale as Mathys Detourbet moved to Manchester City for €25m after 51 appearances, then was immediately loaned to Monaco. Savinho had also gone for €25m in 2024 without playing for Troyes.
Rennes set a new benchmark as 20-year-old centre-back Jérémy Jacquet joined Liverpool for a little over €63m. He eclipsed Ousmane Dembélé, Désiré Doué and Eduardo Camavinga, as well as Jérémy Doku, Nayef Aguerd and Ismaïla Sarr.
Toulouse multiplied their outlay on Emersonn roughly tenfold within a year, the Brazilian moving to promoted Ipswich for about €32m including add-ons. A further exit could follow, with Dayann Methalie in talks over a €28m move to Sunderland plus €2-5m bonuses.
Lens cashed in on Mamadou Sangaré, the 24-year-old sold to Brentford for €48m excluding bonuses. He had arrived from Rapid Vienna for €13m last summer, and now becomes the club’s record departure.
Strasbourg, under BlueCo ownership, broke their record twice, with Valentin Barco joining Chelsea for €40m before Diego Moreira left for AC Milan at a record €50m excluding bonuses. That run followed Dilane Bakwa’s €35m move to Nottingham Forest in 2025.
Marseille’s top scorer and creator last season, Mason Greenwood, moved to Fenerbahçe for €39m excluding bonuses, with Manchester United retaining a significant share. He overtook Michy Batshuayi, who joined Chelsea for the same amount without bonuses.
