Arsenal legend Alan Smith noticed something different about Alejandro Garnacho in Chelsea’s win against Wolves.

Despite a goalless first half Chelsea cruised to a comfortable 3-0 win on Saturday evening to move up to second in the league.

Malo Gusto scored the first goal of his senior career, whilst Joao Pedro and Pedro Neto also got themselves on the scoresheet.

Garnacho was handed his fifth consecutive start in the Premier League, as Enzo Maresca once again made a number of changes to the starting line-up.

The Argentine scored the equaliser against Qarabag in midweek, and arguably should have scored in the first half against Wolves.

However, Garnacho provided two assists in the second half, in what was arguably his best performance in a Chelsea shirt.

The 21-year-old now has four goal contributions in his last four games, and Maresca was delighted with Garnacho and his performance.

The former Man United star appears to be playing with more confidence, something Smith noticed when on commentary for the game.

“I think he has had an upturn in form, Garnacho,” he told Sky Sports.

“Got a goal in the week and there is a bit more confidence to his play.”

Estevao impresses once again

Whilst Garnacho put in a brilliant performance, Estevao again impressed with his cameo from the bench in the second half.

The Brazilian wasn’t named in the starting line-up much to the disappointment of supporters, but made an instant impact when he came on.

Estevao assisted Joao Pedro for Chelsea’s second goal with virtually his first touch, and Maresca believes the 18-year-old is going to be a top player for the Blues for many years to come, and it’s hard to argue with him on current evidence.
