HLN are reporting that Patrik Hrosovsky is on the verge of leaving Genk. The Slovakian international is set to rejoin his former side Viktoria Plzen of Czechia. The 33-year-old Hrosovsky left Plzen back in 2019 to join Genk but has reportedly been keen on a return at some point in his career. With his contract up in the summer, it made sense for Genk to finally allow Hrosovsky his return to the club he harbored to return to.
Prior to joining Genk, Hrosovsky spent five seasons with Viktoria Plzen, scoring 13 goals as he amassed an impressive 214 appearances. Hrosovsky then joined Genk and became an important, if sometimes undervalued, member of the side. He leaves now having played 261 games for the club, scoring 21 goals. Hi best season for Genk was actually the 2024/2025 campaign. In 39 games Hrosovsky scored seven goals and provided four assists.
Hrosovsky is also a Slovakian international, having made 61 appearances for the national team over the years.
