Crystal Palace have opened preliminary discussions with Oliver Glasner over a new contract, though progress is expected to be gradual, with no formal timeline set for an agreement, according to reports from Sky Sports.
The Austrian’s current deal expires at the end of the season, but Palace remain confident he will continue in charge beyond that point. Chairman Steve Parish confirmed during the international break that talks had begun, describing them as “positive and forward-looking.” However, the club are not imposing any deadline on negotiations.
Glasner’s standing within European football has soared since guiding Palace to their first-ever major trophy, the FA Cup, last season, with the Austrian now being tracked by several European heavyweights.
Palace’s hierarchy are said to be “incredibly impressed” by Glasner’s professionalism and composure amid ongoing speculation about his future. Nonetheless, in the background, the club continues to conduct due diligence on potential managerial options should circumstances change next summer.
For now, Glasner remains fully focused on the season ahead, with the atmosphere at the training ground described as “calm and assured.”
