Norway head coach Stale Solbakken has voiced concern after Fredrik Aursnes suffered an injury for Benfica, placing his March involvement in doubt with the World Cup approaching.

According to Glorioso 1904, Solbakken told local media the midfielder will miss at least three weeks of Benfica matches, which could make a call-up difficult.

He said he had a bad feeling after watching the incident, describing it as a classic hamstring problem, and stressed they must wait for the results of medical tests.

With Norway’s camp scheduled for late March during the FIFA window, Solbakken added that if Aursnes cannot join then, they will have to wait until June.

Norway have two friendlies on 27 and 31 March, against the Netherlands and Switzerland, and also have Andreas Schjelderup in the frame.
