Real Sociedad had a penalty appeal waved away in the 18th minute after Carlos Soler went down inside the area.
According to El Correo, he took possession with Jauregizar closing in from behind, then struck the turf and fell, prompting protests from team-mates who demanded a spot-kick.
Referee José María Sánchez Martínez, well positioned and close to the incident, signalled play on, judging there was no offence, and VAR official Mario Melero did not initiate a review.
Replays made it clear Soler connected with the ground, not with Jauregizar.
The controversy did not end there for the Real Sociedad player, as Soler later made a heavy challenge on Jauregizar that, to general surprise, went without any disciplinary sanction.
