Chelsea will be eager to extend their unbeaten run under Sonia Bompastor when they host Manchester United on Sunday in the Women's Super League.

The Blues have so far won eleven consecutive fixtures during the 2024/25 season and are yet to drop a single point since the arrival of head coach Bompastor. They will have the opportunity to go four points clear at the top of the WSL table when they face United at Kingsmeadow in a rescheduled meeting between the two sides.

Bompastor didn't mince her words when asked about Chelsea's objectives this season in her pre-match press conference, stating the club "want to win everything."

"We want to show that we can beat every team, because that's the mentality you need to have when you want to win everything."

Chelsea have flown through all competitions recently, remaining unbeaten since the start of the season. Despite their dominance, Bompastor emphasised how important it is for the squad to remain level-headed as the campaign ramps up.

"As a manager, I always make sure we have a good balance between the confidence and also how we know we have to work hard to get good results and performances," she explained. "The players at the moment are confident, but not overconfident. They are professionals, and when you play for a club like Chelsea, you know there are high expectations."

"Over the last few weeks, of course we are in a good run and have a good dynamic, but we haven't won anything yet and that is the reality of it."

Sunday's opponents are also unbeaten, with Manchester United taking three wins and three draws from the WSL season so far. Bompastor said that this invincible "rivalry" will give her side "extra motivation" this weekend.

"We are in a good position at the moment. We have high expectations and I think every team wants to try to beat us. Our mentality is to make sure that this rivalry brings extra motivation, in a good way."

"Manchester United have a strong squad, a lot of quality all over the pitch," she continued. "They don't concede a lot of goals, so we will have to find a way to cause them some troubles in the game on Sunday. In their games they really defend well as a team, and they are really organised."
