Sosa ruled out for Palmeiras after thigh injury, Khellven steps up recovery

Palmeiras forward Ramón Sosa has been diagnosed with a left hamstring injury and will miss upcoming games, while Khellven has advanced in his rehabilitation.
According to Globo.com, imaging on Sunday confirmed damage to the left posterior thigh muscle. The Paraguayan came on in the second half against Fluminense on Saturday but was substituted on 34 minutes of the second half after feeling the problem.
Sosa has begun treatment and Palmeiras have not set a timeframe for his return.
In better news, right-back Khellven, absent in recent matches with a right thigh injury, has started on-grass transition work.
On the squad’s return to work, starters completed indoor recovery at the training centre, while the others took part in a 10 v 10 session with specific emphases. Academy youngsters joined the activity.
Palmeiras are back on Wednesday in a tie that will decide a place in the quarter-finals of the Conmebol Libertadores against Cerro Porteño. Kick-off is 19h Brasília time at Estadio Nueva Olla in Asunción. After a 1-1 draw in the first leg, the winner advances and another draw means penalties.
