As per our earlier content, the one thing that for Ibrox Noise is needed is a new striker. The feedback to our early content about this subject was entirely positive.
The majority of fans agreed that Rangers current striker predicament could be better.
We discussed how none of the three options currently available come close to being an all round solution.
Chermiti is a big target man, but never scores.
Miovski scores a little bit more, but lacks much else to his game.
That includes consistency.
Danilo is either always injured or has lost his scoring touch.
He also lacks the target man side to his game.
In short, there is no real solution in the current roster at Ibrox.
Ibrox Noise already highlighted this earlier in the window.
Consequently, we have come into some information this afternoon.
It confirms Rangers are very much on the lookout for a new striker.
However, it crucially depends on shipping one out first.
The hierarchy at Rangers, particularly Danny Rohl and owner Andrew Kavanagh, do not want four strikers on the books.
All three men currently on the roster are on fairly decent wages.
Danilo in particular earns £40k per week.
Consequently, adding a fourth striker is not practical.
Rangers are, quite frankly, looking to swap.
Reports suggest Rangers are pursuing Tomas Cvancara as part of this process.
This would have been the plan previously, as Ibrox Noise revealed.
We discussed how both Miovski and Chermiti were looking to be freed.
At the very least, they could go out on loan.
That would allow Rangers to bring in another body or two.
The problem is that no one has made any tangible offers yet.
Nothing of great interest has reached the club.
Charlie Adam believes Rangers cannot challenge for the title without addressing this position.
The fundamental problem is simple.
How do Rangers bring in a quality striker, even on loan, with three already on the roster.
It is not practical.
We also discussed how Danilo has been told he is surplus.
The Brazilian has barely featured in the past couple of months.
However, neither of the other two particularly cut it either.
It’s why Rangers have reportedly opened talks for Maswanhise, in what some claim would be their best forward since Morelos.
Rangers are completely open to bringing in a proper new striker this window.
It just depends on getting rid of at least one already there.
It is a big problem.
No one seems to want Chermiti.
Miovski could attract some lesser teams.
However, nothing tangible has arrived.
Danilo remains a well known name elsewhere.
His wages are simply far too high.
That is the biggest problem.
We will discuss that in a separate entry.
Nevertheless, the chance remains open for Rangers to bring in a new striker.
The hierarchy and the scouting department are fully open to the idea.
They actively want it.
The problem is shifting what Rangers already have.
It is not feasible to have four strikers on the books.
If Rangers resolve this within 10 days, it will be an excellent transfer window.
