South American commentary of Camilo Duran’s Celtic goals is absolutely brilliant | OneFootball

Camilo Duran’s stunning Champions League double for Celtic certainly did not go unnoticed in South America.

The Colombian was the star of the show as Martin O’Neill’s side swept LASK aside 3-0 in the first leg of their Champions League play-off, producing two superb finishes to put the Hoops in command of the tie.

Duran is already accustomed to making an impact on Europe’s biggest stage after scoring five times in last season’s competition proper, and there was particular interest in his latest performance back home.

The game was broadcast on ESPN Colombia, where commentator Juan Manuel “Bambino” Pons provided a memorable soundtrack to both of Duran’s goals.

Pons, an Argentine commentator renowned for breaking into song during matches, was in full flow as Duran lit up Celtic Park, repeatedly celebrating the Colombian’s efforts as “golazos”.

The footage is geographically restricted in the UK, but clips of the commentary have since reached Celtic supporters in Scotland – and they are quite something.

Duran’s display has only added to the excitement surrounding the 24-year-old following his £6million summer move.

His combination of quality, flair and relentless energy already looks ideally suited to Celtic, and on the early evidence, that £6million fee could prove to be an absolute steal.
