One of Southampton's summer recruits has stood out to supporters in particular

One of Southampton’s summer signings in particular has stood out to supporters for his performances this season.
St. Mary’s hasn’t been an easy place to operate out of this season, with the Saints bringing their woeful form from the backend of last campaign into the current term.
After hovering close to the relegation zone and winning just two of his 13 Championship matches in charge, Will Still was relieved of his managerial duties.
There has been a slight upturn in form since under the guidance of U21s boss Tonda Eckert, who won his first two league games in charge and has now been given another three Championship matches to prove himself capable of assuming the role on a full-time basis.

What makes Southampton’s start to the season all the more confusing is the fact that they enjoyed a decent showing in the transfer market.
While they lost important players such as Mateus Fernandes, Tyler Dibling and Aaron Ramsdale, the Saints made some exciting additions in the form of Tom Fellows, Finn Azaz and Caspar Jander.
Those players are still yet to really get going at St. Mary’s, which explains why Southampton have failed to perform for a large portion of the campaign. However, there is one summer addition that has stood out to supporters.
When asked to name the Saints’ best recruit from the most recent transfer window, Football League World’s Southampton fan pundit, Martin Sanders, believes there is only one option to pick from.
“Leo Scienza by a mile,” stated Martin. “He's a brilliant player.
“He's our best player by a mile. He's been outstanding for us. Runs with the ball, plays off the left-hand side. He's a proper winger and works very hard.
“He’s got everything about him to go on to be a top, top player. He’s really integrated himself with the fans as well. He's like a cult hero already.
“He's definitely going to the top, there's no doubt about it.”

After joining on deadline day, it took Leo Scienza some time to fully integrate himself into the Southampton squad following his move from Bundesliga side Heidenheim.
This meant that his first league start didn’t come until October, but he has been in flying form since then.
The Brazilian’s quality has been evident, scoring in two of his last four matches before the November international break and playing a huge role in the Saints’ turnaround under Eckert.
Besides scoring goals, Scienza has completed over two dribbles per 90 thus far, alongside winning his side over four free kicks per game. He's a real handful for opposition full-backs and routinely gets Saints supporters off their seats, with what remains a discontent fanbase nonetheless excited about what he can conjure up over the course of the season.
The 27-year-old has also created over two chances in every match for his teammates, which when coupled with his goalscoring tendencies, makes him a brilliant asset for Southampton.
