Southampton FC Women add goalkeeper Grace Moloney and midfielder Laura Hughes | OneFootball

Southampton FC Women have completed the signings of goalkeeper Grace Moloney and midfielder Laura Hughes.

Daily Echo reports that Moloney, 33, arrives from WSL2 rivals Sunderland, while Hughes, 25, joins after leaving Melbourne City.

Moloney made over 80 WSL appearances for Reading. She later had loans at Aston Villa and London City Lionesses, then made a permanent move to the capital in 2023.

After two seasons with London City she moved north, and now returns south to further bolster Simon Parker’s goalkeeping unit.

Hughes has been capped by both Australia and Wales, and now represents Wales.

Across her last three campaigns with Melbourne City, she helped them finish first in the regular season each time, then claimed an A-League Grand Final title in the most recent year.

She has over 120 senior appearances and spent a year playing in Iceland.
