Southampton ‘to explore’ loan for Bayern goalkeeper Daniel Peretz | OneFootball

Southampton have been linked with a loan move for Bayern Munich goalkeeper Daniel Peretz, who has struggled for minutes at Hamburg this season.

According to Christian Falk, Saints are interested in taking the 25-year-old on loan. Bayern are said to be considering a new loan destination for the Israeli international.

Peretz has not made a Bundesliga appearance for Hamburg this season, with his only outings coming in the DFB Pokal.

Southampton have rotated between Gavin Bazunu and Alex McCarthy, with Bazunu currently first choice under Tonda Eckert. Both goalkeepers have conceded more than a goal a game on average, and Saints are second worst in the league for save percentage (59.1 per cent).

Technical director Johannes Spors has warned the club will not be big spenders in the winter window. Saints already have George Long on loan from Norwich City, and he has yet to play.
