Spanish national team head coach Luis de la Fuente has spoken out on the wellbeing of Barcelona star Ferran Torres.
This of course comes fresh off the versatile frontman departing the Spanish national team camp prematurely.
In a statement released by La Roja earlier today, it was revealed that Ferran was not considered in a fit state to play his part against Bulgaria later this week.
The former Manchester City man, in turn, was put through a round of medical tests and scans back at Barcelona’s base.
The Blaugrana from here announced that ‘medical tests have confirmed that Ferran Torres has an overload in the hamstring muscles of his left leg, with no associated injury. The player is not sidelined and will follow a specific treatment plan.’
And Spain boss Luis de la Fuente has since provided a further encouraging update on the situation.
Drawn on Ferran’s fitness during an appearance in front of the media on Monday evening, the tactician explained:
“Ferran’s injury? There’s no injury, it’s just discomfort. We need the players at one hundred percent. He wasn’t ready for tomorrow, and the best thing was to remove him from the squad. He’ll surely be perfectly fine by Wednesday.”
