Spain boss provides injury update on Barcelona star | OneFootball

Spanish national team head coach Luis de la Fuente has provided an update on the wellbeing of Barcelona star Eric García. This comes after the defender was forced to sit out La Roja’s meeting with England on Saturday evening.

Spain marked their return to action a short time ago, making the trip to Wembley for a Nations League clash. The aforementioned Eric was part of the visitors’ travelling party, expected to take his place on the bench in London.

Prior to kick-off, however, word was forthcoming that the former Manchester City man would not be available for the fixture. This came owing to an issue suffered during the warm-up.

Speaking to the media in the aftermath of his side’s 3-2 triumph in London, the aforementioned Luis de la Fuente was therefore asked for the latest on Eric’s situation.

And Spain’s headmaster provided a detailed response, as follows:

“Eric suffered a minor issue during the warm-up. It doesn’t appear to be serious. When we arrive in Madrid, we will evaluate his condition and see if he is able to recover. We will certainly not take any risks with the player. Currently, the injury does not look serious, but we don’t know if he will be able to recover and play in any of the remaining matches.”
