Turkiye host Spain at the Konya Buyuksehir Belediyesi Stadium on Sunday in their second fixture of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Both nations secured impressive opening victories in Group E, with the Turks defeating Georgia 3-2 while Spain comprehensively beat Bulgaria 3-0 away from home.
This crucial encounter could determine who tops the group, with both sides looking to maintain their perfect start to the qualifying campaign.
Spain face a fitness concern over Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal, who was substituted with a back problem during the 3-0 win over Bulgaria. The 18-year-old provided an assist before his withdrawal, but coach De la Fuente expects him to be available for Sunday’s clash.
Fabian Ruiz has been ruled out with a muscle injury in his left leg and has left the squad. This opens up opportunities for other midfield options, with Arsenal’s Martin Zubimendi and Barcelona’s Pedri likely to feature alongside the returning Rodri.
Possible Spain starting XI: Unai Simón; Carvajal, Cubarsi, Vivian, Cucurella; Rodri, Zubimendi, Pedri; Yamal, Morata, Nico Williams.
The qualifier will kick off at 7:45pm BST on Sunday, 7th September.
The match will be available to watch on Amazon Prime Video in the UK as a pay-per-view event.
