Spain's World Cup celebrations to start an hour late after Madrid delay | OneFootball

The federation announced that celebrations marking Spain's 2026 World Cup triumph will start about an hour later than planned, after the squad's delayed arrival in Madrid.

The squad landed at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas at 14:30, not 12:50 as scheduled. They paused for lunch before resuming the official itinerary.

Led by RFEF president Rafael Louzán, head coach Luis de la Fuente and captain Rodrigo Hernández, the delegation is due to reach the Palacio de La Zarzuela at about 17:30 to be received by the Royal Family.

After Zarzuela, the team will head to the Palacio de La Moncloa for a meeting with Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez. On Sunday he watched Spain's 1-0 win over Argentina in the final at MetLife Stadium, New Jersey, alongside the Royal Family, with Ferran Torres scoring in extra time.

Once the official receptions conclude, an open-top bus parade will begin from La Moncloa from 19.00. The route will run along Princesa, Alberto Aguilera, Carranza, Sagasta, Génova, Goya, Serrano, the Plaza de la Independencia, the Puerta de Alcalá and Alfonso XII, finishing on Calle Montalbán next to the Palacio de Cibeles.

The main ceremony will take place there, featuring player introductions to the supporters and several musical performances.
