Spalletti says Juventus have to try to win games even though it could be costly | OneFootball

Luciano Spalletti has discussed the importance of Juventus always trying to win their matches after they beat Atalanta 2-0 to extend their winning run to two games.

In their last two matches, Juventus have shown that they can cope well in the absence of some of their key stars. Their recent results will encourage, but there is still a long way to go in the campaign.

Juve are one of the teams to follow in the league, but they cannot afford to become comfortable at this stage. They remain one of the teams susceptible to inconsistent form in the top flight, making it important for them to maintain their focus.

Spalletti demands the right mentality

Speaking after the win against Atalanta, Tuttomercatoweb quoted Spalletti as saying:

“The game plan dictates what you have to do, but it doesn’t protect you from the game if you don’t find a dynamic balance within the speed and chaos that the game forces you to create. We played a good game, but in the first half we weren’t very good at winning the ball back. Then we were forced to play a sacrificial game at times. We have to find the motivation to try and win games, so we can’t settle for defending.”

The comments underline Spalletti’s desire for Juventus to remain proactive rather than simply protecting leads. Their recent victories have given them momentum, but the manager wants the team to maintain the determination to win throughout the remainder of the campaign.
