Spartak and Zenit ‘in talks’ for Alexandre Golovine as Monaco agree Al-Ahli deal for Cabral | OneFootball

Monaco could yet sanction further departures after Folarin Balogun’s collapsed move to Everton. According to Nice-Matin, the club have held talks with Spartak Moscow and Zenit Saint Petersburg over Alexandre Golovine, while an agreement is in place for Pape Cabral to join Al-Ahli.

Cabral, 19 and under contract until 2031, has been cleared to undergo a medical before signing for the Jeddah side. The academy midfielder, who made six first-team appearances last season and is a France Under-19 international, will move for €10m, with a 15% sell-on included. The transfer will be confirmed after medical tests and approval by PIF, Saudi Arabia’s royal fund.

Despite the window closing on Tuesday night across western Europe, at least one more exit could still happen, involving a senior squad member. The likelihood of Golovine returning to Russia has increased in recent hours, though nothing is imminent.

Golovine is central to Filipe Luis’s plans and has started whenever available this season, registering one goal and one assist in three matches. A deal could be worth between €20m and €25m. The club’s longest-serving player would depart after eight seasons, having joined following the 2018 World Cup.

With several markets still open, Balogun now appears set to stay until January. Monaco consider a sale of a player of that stature difficult at this stage of the campaign. Last season, George Ilenikhena was sold for €30m, excluding bonuses, in February, helping to balance the accounts.
