SPFL confirm there will be no away fans at 2026/27 Old Firms

The SPFL have today released a statement confirming that away fans will be barred from all Old Firm Premiership and League Cup games this season.

The statement read: “After further discussions involving both clubs and the SPFL, agreement has been reached that there will be no away supporters for matches involving Rangers and Celtic in SPFL competitions for the remainder of the season.”

This decision comes ahead of the upcoming Old Firm double-header at Ibrox Park, where the two sides will clash in the Premier Sports Cup quarter-final on September 13th and then the Scottish Premiership the following weekend.

The new rules likely come following the disorder between the two sets of fans at Ibrox after the conclusion of the Scottish Cup quarter-final back in March.
