Life comes at you fast if you're in the Roma camp this evening, after the Giallorossi saw their one-goal advantage in the first half disappear thanks to a familiar face.
The capital side got off on the right foot early doors at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona thanks to an opener in the seventh minute from on-fire striker Donyell Malen.
But, despite Antonio Conte's outfit being riddled with fitness concerns, the Partenopei would battle back to pull level five minutes from the half-time interval, thanks to former Roma man Leonardo Spinazzola.
Now 32 and in the twilight of his career in the Italian top flight, the Umbrian-born midfielder, who logged over 100 appearances for Roma between 2019 and 2024, saw his deflected effort from range fly into the back of the net to send home supporters into rapturous celebration.
With his goal, Spinazzola became only the fourth Italian player to score from outside the box across this fixture in the last two decades, joining icons Danielle De Rossi (2007), Francesco Totti (2009), and Lorenzo Insigne (2020).
And it could not have come at a better time either, with Napoli in the throes of a frustrating 2025/26 Serie A season that sees them well off pace-setters Inter.
Is there another dramatic moment left across the latest installment of the Derby del Sole?
