Sporting extends Ousmane Diomande's contract

Sporting CP has officially announced the contract extension of one of its key players. Ivorian defender Ousmane Diomande has signed a new deal that now ties him to the Lisbon club until June 30, 2030.

This extension is a major turning point, as his previous contract was set to run until 2027. Sporting has also maintained the player's release clause at 80 million euros. Having arrived in Lisbon in January 2023 from FC Midtjylland, the Ivorian international quickly established himself as a cornerstone of the Lions' defense.

At just 22 years old, he already boasts more than 100 appearances in the green and white jersey. His performances have caught the eye of several top European clubs, including Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain. But with this extension, Sporting secures its player and clearly cools the ambitions of his suitors.
