Tottenham have confirmed that Wilson Odobert has suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in their 2-1 loss to Newcastle.

The Frenchman becomes Spurs’ 11th injured player currently joining the likes of James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski and Mohamed Kudus on the injury list.

Odobert’s injury leaves Randal Kolo Muani, Dominic Solanke and Mathys Tel as the club’s only fit natural attacking players with Kudus, Kulusevski and Richarlison all sidelined.

He went down after trying to make a tackle in the first-half of the match falling on his leg badly, Mathys Tel came on in his place.

Spurs released a statement regarding the injury saying: “We can confirm that Wilson Odobert has sustained a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

“Wilson will see a specialist next week before undergoing surgery, and will then commence his rehabilitation with our medical staff.”

This injury news comes just a day after the club sacked Thomas Frank because of the club’s 16th placed league position. They are only five points ahead of West Ham in the relegation zone.
