It's a new look Chelsea this year after Xabi Alonso and many new arrivals.

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to strengthen their attack this summer, and a move for Chelsea's Pedro Neto is a potential option.

Roberto De Zerbi's side have been very active in the transfer market so far, bringing in the likes of Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Jan Paul van Hecke, Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson.

Spurs are also finalising deals for Manchester City's attacking duo Savinho and Omar Marmoush.

Spurs had a difficult start to the 2026/27 Premier League season, getting thumped 3-0 by Brentford on Saturday evening.

As they look to bring in new signings, De Zerbi's side are still targeting more attackers, and a switch for Liverpool's Cody Gakpo is of interest.

It remains unclear whether Spurs can reach an agreement with Liverpool to finalise a deal for the Dutch international.

But should Spurs be unsuccessful, they do have contingency plans - other forwards have been identified, including Neto, according to Sky Sports.

The 26-year-old is valued at £100m by Chelsea, who are understood to highly value the Portuguese winger.

Neto has not been readily made available for transfer this summer, but he is not considered untouchable at Stamford Bridge, indicating he is available for the right price.

Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal has shown interest. However, as reported by Fabrizio Romano, Neto is considered too expensive, and they are now considering a move for Arsenal's Gabriel Martinelli.

Whether Chelsea would be prepared to let Neto leave to a London rival so late in the transfer window is unclear at this stage. They have benchmarked their valuation against other wide players sold this summer.

Neto's stance also needs to be considered. Would he be prepared to join Spurs? Given Chelsea's strength in depth, Neto has been deployed in multiple positions so far, at wing-back and in attacking positions under Xabi Alonso, who is still establishing his best side as they head into the new season.

Chelsea have already rejected a loan offer from AS Roma for Jamie Gittens, while Mykhailo Mudryk, who has returned to football this summer after his doping case was resolved, is likely to head out on loan. Leeds United have had an offer rejected amid interest from several clubs.

What is clear for Chelsea, irrespective of the current futures of Neto, Gittens and Mudryk among others, is that it is set to be a busy end to the summer window as the club looks to finalise many outgoings to trim Alonso's squad for, at least, the first half of the season.
