The Red Stars announced news of the deal via a post on their official club website this evening.
It has been reported that Ayane will stay with Chicago Red Stars until the end of the 2024 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) season. She will return to Spurs at the end of December.
Ayane has spent the last five years with Spurs. She joined the North Londoners in summer 2019 following the club’s promotion to the Barclays Women’s Super League. Ayane has made 76 appearances for Spurs in the top flight while she has scored three goals. She was a member of the side that reached the Adobe Women’s FA Cup final last season.
The 28-year-old Moroccan international has never played club football outside of Europe but she will now test herself in America with Chicago Red Stars.
After sealing her loan move to Chicago Red Stars, Ayane said “I’m so excited to be joining the Chicago Red Stars. The NWSL is such a competitive league. I can’t wait to meet the team and get started.”
Chicago Red Stars have confirmed that Ayane has received the necessary clearance to represent the club in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).
